Dedicated to those who love Aldo Rossi's undisputed talent for translating his architectural language into small works of design, the La Cubica cocotte is an extraordinary object: a simple volume that is dropped into a foreign sphere, that of cooking utensils. For gourmets in the private sphere looking for high performance instruments, a "cooking box" that responds perfectly to its function.
It is produced in aluminium casting with a very high quality non-stick coating. Thanks to its high conductivity, this material ensures uniform cooking and significant energy savings. It is ideal for healthy low-fat cooking. The matt black internal and external non-stick coating is resistant to wear, impact and high temperatures and is PFOA-free.
This pot with its unexpected form so different to that of a traditional one is actually less unconventional than might appear. Between 1987 and 1989, Aldo Rossi worked on the design of a hotel complex and restaurant in Fukuoka, Japan, called 'II Palazzo'. This experience brought him into contact with the country's gastronomic culture, where the utensils used for cooking frequently make use of rectangular or square sections.
Only a few hundred examples of La Cubica were produced between 1991 and 2000 because of the great technical difficulties and high industrial cost -- it is now available once again with this re-edition.
Excellent for preparing risotto, meat and many other dishes, ideal for healthy, low-fat cooking. The extra-thick magnetic steel base is suitable for induction cooking, on gas, electric and glass ceramic hot plates.
